Stephen and Mallory woke up at 6:50am and are now heading to a doctor's appointment for Mal. Two weeks ago, Mal went to the dermatologist to get the bump on her forehead checked out. The dermatologist told her that it was a cyst and referred her to an ENT. Stephen says that it sounds strange that Mal has to see an ENT, but this ENT specializes in plastic surgery. Stephen isn't sure why the dermatologist referred Mal to this ENT. But, he assumes that maybe it's because the cyst is located near the sinuses, so it's a more delicate situation. Stephen says that they'll go in and see what options Mal has for getting the cyst removed. He says that they will get something to eat after the appointment.

Later, they are in the ENT office and Mal is not excited to be there. After the appointment, Stephen talks about how they asked the ENT what options Mal had to get the cyst removed. The ENT told them that the only way to remove it is through surgery. So, Mal will be getitng surgery on October 28th which is in 3 weeks. It's currently about 9:00am, so they decide to go get some breakfast. They eat at Blueberry's Grill where Mal orders an omelette with fruit and Stephen gets sausages, eggs, toast, homefries, and pancakes.

Back at home, Stephen says that he worked on some stuff and recorded more episodes of Super Mario Sunshine. He comments that the recording went better than it did yesterday since Mal is getting more used to the controls. Stephen says that he's relearning that some parts of the game are ridicously hard like the FLUDD-less levels where the ability to use the water jet pack, called FLUDD, is taken away. Some levels with FLUDD are also difficult like when players are given 1 minutes to collect all 8 red coins. Stephen says that he must have mentally blocked those levels out since he doesn't remember playing them as a kid. He then mentions that Mal gets a bit motion sick from the moving camera and all the acrobatics in the game. She can only get through 1 recording session, so they can only record 3 episodes a day. Stephen says that he doesn't think that Mal will be handle 2 recording sessions in 1 day since the game makes her feel sick. Ironically, Super Mario 64 doesn't make her feel sick.

Another thing that Stephen wanted to do today was test the idea of doing a First20 stream. He hopes that he will be able to finish testing it and do a stream tomorrow. The only downside of doing a First20 stream is that he always has the lights set up for Breakfast Stream and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, so he has to move the lights towards his computer in order to do Morning Mario or First20 streams. The only solution is to get another set of lights, but Stephen doesn't want to get antoher set. So, he will just have to move the lights around multiple times a week if First20 streams become a regular thing. Stephen comments that he can see himself getting frustrated over this in the future.

Then, he talks about how he and Mal had gone to store named Aldi after they ate at Blueberry's Grill. They have been looking for a headboard for their bed ever since they moved to the new house. Their old bed had a headboard, but their new bed didn't. They didn't realize how important the headboard was until they got the new bed. Stephen says that they really love the new bed and that they really recommend matresses from Purple, but the beds don't have a headboard. He explains that they often sit up in bed for 15-20 minutes before going to sleep to read or check websites. But, they can't do that without a headboard since the wall will get dirty over time from them sitting against it. Stephen has instead been lying on his stomach while holding at his phone which sometimes causes his arms to fall asleep. He says that they don't need a super fancy headboard, just a functional one.

The other day, Lindsey told them that Aldi is selling headboards despite it being known as grocery store. Stephen says that they were selling a pack of 8 headboard tiles for $40. They ended up buying it since their current house is not going to be their permanent house anyway. They just needed something that would let them sit up in bed. One issue is that the headboard tiles are meant for a smaller bed like a full-sized or queen-sized bed. So, a couple inches of the wall behind the bed are not covered in headboard tiles. But, they could just buy another pack if they need more headboard tiles. Stephen notes that it would still be less expensive to buy 2 packs of headboard tiles rather than buying an actual headboard. He mentions that the headboard tiles also come with velcro adhesives to stick them onto the wall. Stephen says that he doesn't know how the headboard tiles will be, but he's excited that they even have a headboard.

In the bedroom, Stephen talks about how they got command hooks to attack the headboard tiles to the wall. The headboard tiles have adhesive on them, but Mal didn't want to have to adhesive off the walls at a rental house when they move out. Mal says that they also got the headboards because the wall is already gross and they didn't want to sit against it. Stephen says that the entire house has terrible issues and that the house were really dirty when they moved in. There still remains some things that they were unable to clean. When they tried to clean certain parts, the paint just came off because the house is painted with really cheap paint. They then attach 6 of the 8 headboard tiles. Stephen says that they didn't have enough command hooks to attach the remaining 2 tiles. He comments that it's not the ugliest thing he's ever seen and that the headboard tiles only costed $40. Stephen says that they will attach the remaining 2 tiles soon. He then talks about how he doesn't know how well the tiles will work. Stephen isn't sure if movement will cause the tiles to fall off the wall or not. But, it will be a cheap alternative if it works. Stephen says that the total cost of the headboard tiles and command hooks was $50. He says that he will give a review of the headboard tiles in a few days.
