Previous Vlog (Day 3392) | Next Vlog (Day 3394)

The vlog starts out with Stephen saying that he unboxed the new vlog camera in yesterday's vlog and he is trying to get used to holding the new camera since it's bigger. He said that now that the camera has a wider shot, he doesn't have to hold the camera all the way up to his face in order film a plate of food. He then says that he has been playing around with the audio and color settings of the new camera.

Stephen then talks about how not too long ago Mallory found an office chair she liked at Costco. He had told her to wait on buying it since they were going to look at some chairs in Charlotte. After seeing all those chairs, Mal still liked the Costco office chair the best. Mal says that the office chairs at Ikea and Office Solutions Inc. weren't bad, but the Costco one was better. Stephen then comments that the deciding factor was probably the fact that the Costco office chair had arm rests that could be moved up and down. He mentions that they were going to Costco to buy the office chair today.

Stephen then talks about how since the Sony Alpha 6400 camera is larger, it doesn't fit in camera pouch he has. He said that he will probably need to buy a larger camera bag. Since Best Buy is conveniently located next to Costco, he plans to go there and look for a new camera bag. Stephen says that he will have to decide between getting a camera bag that won't hold the microphone or a bigger camera bag that is able to fit the microphone. He then mentions that he is currently filming without the microphone on the camera right now, so he could get used to how the audio sounds without it.

There are then clips of Stephen and Mal having lunch at Five Guys. Then, there is a clip of them looking at camera bags at Best Buy. In the car, Stephen says that he was trying to decide if he wanted a bag that was smaller with no room to put the microphone or a slightly bigger messenger-style camera bag that could fit the microphone. He said that Mal encourages him to get the messenger-style bag because he will be happier if he has the microphone and he will have more space to put other things in. Mal told him that at first it will feel weird since he's not used having a shoulder bag, but she said that she has been using a purse for a long time and it's fine.

They then go to Costco where Mal sits in the display chair again. Stephen says that the movable arm rests is what it came down to when choosing the chair and proceeds to zoom into Mal's arms. He then says that he is happy that he can do snap zooms with the new camera and zooms multiple times into Mal's face. Stephen then tells Mal that she is going to experience "true wellness" today ("trueWellness" is the branding on the office chair box). The video then transitions to Mal pushing a shopping cart with the office chair box in it to the car. Stephen and Mal then stop by the Asian Market. Mal said that she needed to get some mayonnaise at the Asian Market and the mayonnaise is packaged in a squeezable bag. Stephen asks Mal what it was and she said that it's a Japanese mayo called Kewpie Mayonnaise. Stephen proceeds to say "Kewpie" in a cute way and comment that the baby on the packaging was really strange. Mal tells Stephen to squeeze the bag of mayonnaise as she squeezes the bag. Stephen replies "I'm not squeezing the baby".

They then return home and Stephen films Sagan and Kepler watching Mal fill the bird feeder outside. Stephen comments that he is happy with how fast the auto-focus functions on the camera as he zooms in and out while filming Sagan and Kepler. The video then transitions to the office where Mal is trying to open the box that contains her new office chair. However, Sagan and Kepler are preventing her from doing so by sitting on top of the box. Kepler then proceeds to groom Sagan on top of the box. Stephen then gently pushes them so they jump off the box. He mentions that you can hear the printer in the background because Mal was doing her Patreon prints for her Super Mario Odyssey - "Bonneton" painting. Stephen says that the prints are always photos and they are always curious about how the transition of the picture from painting to photo looks like. He said that all of the paintings look good as prints, but some of them look a lot better than the others.

Mal then opens her office chair box. Stephen asks her "What you got there?". Mal holds up the arm rest of the new office chair and replies "An arm". Stephen then talks about how the Alpha 6400 camera has a proper intervalometer which is used for filming time-lapse stuff. He said that he was going to test that feature by putting together the office chair and time-lapsing it. There is then a time-lapse of Stephen and Mal putting the office chair together. They finish putting the office chair together and Mal tries it out. She said that it has more cushion than the one at Costco. Stephen then proceeds to remove some small parts on the ground that were used to build the office chair because he said that the cats think those are toys.

Stephen and Mal then have dinner and Stephen mentions that they made 3 different flavors of chicken. They made BBQ chicken, honey pineapple mustard chicken, and stone ground Dijon mustard chicken with a side of Brussels sprouts. Stephen then asks the viewers to be patient with him as he is going to keep testing out and trying different settings on the new vlog camera until he finds the settings he likes. He mentions that this vlog was shot in 24 frames/sec and that he missed filming in 24 frames/sec. Stephen says he used to film in 24 frames/sec on the Canon camera and that he was doing that for many years and wanted to come back to it. He said that he wasn't sure if it was going to be a permanent thing or if he will go back to filming in 30 frames/sec. Stephen then says that the metal loops on the sides of camera definitely have to go. He said that he will get rid of them once the vlog ends

Notes[]

  • Kewpie is a smoother, creamer mayonnaise, and it's made with rice vinegar rather than distilled vinegar.
  • An intervalometer is an attachment or facility on a camera that operates the shutter regularly at set intervals over a period
