Previous Vlog (Day 3560) | Next Vlog (Day 3562)

Stephen has finished Red Dead Redemption 2! He has been playing it since it came out. Stephen feels excited and emotional especially since the rest of the game has been emotional. He feels that the game being well worth his time. Stephen has known that the game was coming to end for a long time. For their trip, he needed a certain number of episodes and the amount of episodes left of Red Dead Redemption 2 was the exact amount needed. Stephen says that it wouldn't have mattered if there wasn't enough because they played Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons on stream the other day which he planned to release if there weren't enough episodes of Red Dead Redemption 2 left. He will still release it since he won't be able to start another Let's Play fast enough.

Stephen then talks about how Red Dead Redemption 2 had a lot of gameplay. He won't be spoiling the game for anyone, but he believes the game is worth experiencing whether you play it or watch his Let's Play. Stephen says that he has never played a game with such an engrossing well-written storyline and character development that pulled him in at the level that Red Dead Redemption 2 did. He has never cared so much about the characters in a game before. Stephen says that you definitely grow attached to the characters after playing the game for so long. But, the characters' being so realistic and likeable also had a part in it. The adventures with different characters also allow you to really get to know the characters.

Stephen describes scenes in the game where there is a big party at a camp and all the characters are partying. The player can stop the party at any point, but you can also walk around to hear conversations. There is a ton of dialogue that is not required to hear, but they are unique conversations that only happen once. Stephen even spent time off-screen listening to those conversations. He then tells people not to worry about starting off with playing Red Dead Redemption 2 because it's the prequel to Red Dead Redemption. Stephen says that he will be making 1 more video of Red Dead Redemption 2 to see all the interesting stuff he might have missed. He has finished all the story related stuff, but the world is huge so he might have missed some things. So, he asks viewers to write a comment telling him things that he should go see. Stephen says that he also did that kind of episode for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. Those Let's Plays were ones where he released videos one at a time which he didn't do for Red Dead Redemption 2, but he felt like it had the same feeling.

Mallory has been wanting to play Red Dead Redemption 2, but she couldn't because Stephen was playing it. Now that he is finished, she can start playing it. Stephen has been telling her things about it without spoiling anything, so he's sure that she will enjoy playing it. Stephen has finished recording all the videos he needs in preparation for the upcoming trip. He still has to schedule all the videos which will take a couple days to do. Stephen also wants to release vlogs while they are gone for their trip, so he will be editing a ton of vlogs. It is a huge undertaking, but he will try to do it. They are leaving early Friday morning and won't be back from their trip until mid-September. The trip will be about 3 weeks long since the time to drive there and back is also included. Dan is also almost finished with editing all the videos.
