Thrown Controllers Colosseum (formerly The Runaway Guys Colosseum) is an annual weekend long charity event that is live streamed on Twitch. It supports Direct Relief which aids people around the world through crises and hardships. It is hosted on Proton Jon's Twitch channel, from 2018 to 2023, and individual videos were re-uploaded to The Runaway Guys YouTube channel, similar to Stephen and Mal's Extra Life videos.
The event combines video games, music, art, and comedy. The Runaway Guys and friends go all out to raise money for charity. Be it comedic stream bumpers, video game modifier donation incentives, catching a rocking concert, or chilling out with some relaxing art time, there is something for everybody to watch and enjoy during the event. With the combined efforts of the community, event staff, and the performers, a total over $1,000,000 has been raised since the inception of the event.
Stephen and Mal joined in this event starting from the very first one, which was from May 4th, 2018 to May 6th, 2018, along with many other guests. One of Stephen's most notable contributions to Colosseum is the character "The Lamp", which (alongside Tom Fawkes's character Lord Donat'or) became a running gag. Stephen has also starred in and filmed numerous other bumpers for Colosseum. In April 2024, Stephen and Mal announced they wouldn't be attending the 2024 event for personal reasons.
